The only difference between normal Internet usage and using Safe Passage is that your Internet connections can be made from your SSH server, not your PC. Using Safe Passage to protect your security and privacy simply means that the SSH server you tunnel to is located somewhere other than your "real" location. Find yourself an SSH Account host which you can tunnel through.
By encrypting and tunneling your Internet traffic through an off-site SSH Server, you will make it very difficult--if not impossible--for associations, agencies, corporations, or hackers to trace your activity online. As far as anyone else can tell, you seem to be sitting in front of your SSH host, not your real PC.
